Fergus - ID#345353
Fergus is a 2 year old Collie. Fergus was hit by a car and had to have attention to his left front paw. He still limps but it is neither painful nor broken. He is able to plant and place his foot. This is all mental and will take time and physical therapy to correct. Fergus likes to play, retrieve and to go for long walks. Collies have been known to have sensitivity to certain drugs, such as Ivermectin (for Heartworm control). Please consult with your veterinarian as to which heartworm prevention will be right for Fergus.
Fergus CANNOT go to a home with children! Fergus has a resource guarding issue. Resource guarding is when a dog controls access to food, objects, people and locations that are important to him through defensive body language or overt aggressive display. This is a relatively common canine behavior and is influenced by a number of environmental and situational stimuli, including a dog's natural instinct to survive. Only an experienced dog person should adopt this dog.
